How to play 2048
Use the arrow keys (or WASD, or swipe) to slide the tiles. Tiles with the same number merge into one when they touch. Get to the 2048 tile! Every 1000 points earns an undo. Want more room? Pick a 5 × 5 board from the New Game menu.
Scoring
Each merge scores the value of the new tile: two 8s make a 16 and score 16 points, so a high score also earns you more undos. The game is won when you make a 2048 tile, and you can keep going for 4096 and beyond.
Tips and strategy
Pick a corner and keep your biggest tile in it. Most good players slide in two directions nearly all the time, such as left and down, use a third only when they must, and avoid the fourth.
Keep the edge row next to your corner full, so a slide the other way can't pull your big tile out.
Line up the tiles along that edge in order, such as 512, 256, 128, so each merge feeds the next one toward the corner.
Don't take every merge you see. Think about where the new 2 or 4 will appear and whether it will block your chain.
